TENSE TRM-12 digital thermal relays are designed to protect loads from high current damage.
They allow setting of overcurrent, fault delay time and operating mode.

They have internal current transformers and a 3×3-digit LED display for clear monitoring of operation.

Operating principle

• When the power supply is connected, the relay switches on and activates the output contact, the OUT indicator lights up.

• When the set overcurrent value is exceeded, the delay time starts counting down and the ERR lights up.

• When the time has elapsed, the relay turns off, the output contact switches and OUT goes off.

• The relay resets automatically or manually depending on the mode selected:

  • Manual: manual reset required after an error.

  • Semi-automatic: automatic reset 3 times, then manual reset

  • Automatic: automatic reset every time an error occurs

50% asymmetry

• If the difference between the largest and smallest phase current exceeds 50%, the relay enters asymmetry error mode.

• The fault is indicated by flashing displays and the ERR indicator.

• A manual reset is required for return.

• Current below 2 A is not monitored.
